The misconception of jicama containing rotenone lies in really understanding where it naturally develops, and this is ONLY in the seeds and in the stems (which aren't edible). The substance does not develop on the bulb or root, meaning the jicama itself. Therefore, when you eat your jicama there is no trace of rotenone on the edible tuber whatsoever.
